On behalf of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the First Vice-Speaker Oleksandr Korniienko had the honour to congratulate on the anniversary of Europe Day during an official reception

"This day has passed in our society from the moment of fantastic dreams to a real sense of the close common future of Ukraine and Europe. "For centuries, our country has been not only a geographical part of Europe, but also a very important part of the European social and cultural space," the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine said.
He noted that this is why Ukraine has confirmed this centuries-old choice on the Maidans and over the past ten years on the battlefield against new barbarians.
Oleksandr Korniienko expressed gratitude to all European member and non-member states for their support of Ukraine: "Our brave guys can perform military miracles with this help." The First Vice-Speaker urged not to stop and only increase it, as well as to maintain a sufficient level of diplomatic and economic pressure on the aggressor.
"We can win only together. In particular, in these summer days, the last thing we want to think about is the next dark winter. The enemies can snatch our light, but they will never snatch our souls," the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine said, adding that Ukraine will fight for democracy and values on the battlefield, and will do so in the process of reforms and transformation of the country to become a worthy EU member.
"Europe has lived in peace with dignity and freedom for decades. But russia brought the war back to Europe. Ukraine, however, has made its European choice. Ukraine is ready to join the family of peace and prosperity. The EU will continue to support Ukraine on its European path," said the EU Ambassador to Ukraine Katarína Mathernová.
