Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine: There is no Potential for setting up a New Coalition

Staying in the city of Lutsk on Saturday, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, confirmed that 38 signatures of the deputies-members of Our Ukraine-People´s Self-Defence Faction had been collected for the dismissal of Mykola Martynenko, Faction leader.

The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated that the signatures had already been registered, however, "the said documents have not been presented to the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada yet". The Head of the Parliament does not know who the signatures belong to and what is the form of the document.

V.Lytvyn believes that this fact "is not an outstanding event".

The Head of the Parliament believes that the resolution concerning change of leaders of the OU-PSD Faction will bear no serious consequences. "It must testify of the internal conflicts in this parliamentary association that has a number of groups and centers of influence", - stressed the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. He is concerned with the participation of the deputies in the parliamentary meetings and their voting for the resolutions necessary for Ukraine and its citizens.

"There is no potential for setting up a new coalition. The situation will worsen, everyone sustaining losses. It is necessary to work, preserving the Parliament in the working condition", - stated V.Lytvyn.

Within the last week, the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine met several representatives of the European institutions. He stated that they were astonished to hear the mutual reproaches of the high-ranking officials, as well as their accusations of the Parliament. First and foremost, it concerns the scandal with the children: "The country can not be humiliated to that extent, one can not derive political benefits from the negative poured onto Ukraine, let alone the children and the family who are publicly belittled". "This disorder shall be suspended", - stated the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
