Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine: Public Will shall accumulate and be realized in the Relevant Resolutions of The Verkhovna Rada
Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, believes that "the National Security and Defense Council shall become the institute for elaborating and coordinating decisions in the process of debates and discussions".
He made the above-mentioned statement in the interview to "Silski Visti" newspaper, answering the question concerning the center for elaborating the issues of State importance. V.Lytvyn supposes that it is the National Security and Defense Council that shall approve the approaches to the key matters of domestic and foreign policy, "becoming a platform of joint actions of all the authority branches".
V.Lytvyn is convinced that the NSDC has been destroyed by political confrontation. "Correct estimates are given, the facts are stated, various resolutions are adopted; however, they fail to be implemented", - summed up the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
He supposes that the public will shall accumulate and be realized in the relevant resolutions of The Verkhovna Rada.
V.Lytvyn expects that the Parliament will uphold the proposition to discuss the economic situation in Ukraine with the participation of the President, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, and the leaders of the central executive bodies. This matter shall be discussed on the grounds of the National Academy of Sciences report elaborated at the request of the Chairman.
V.Lytvyn stated that the Verkhovna Rada would receive the report on Thursday. "People shall see the actual situation in the country, - stated V.Lytvyn. On the eve of the elections, people need the truth. However, the authorities do not need it, as they have their own plans and intentions. The country and the people do not fit in these plans".
