British Part upholds the Idea on the Fact that the Relations between Ukraine and European Union must receive the Character of Strategic Partnership, Volodymyr Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declared.
According to the leader of the Parliament during the meetings that were hold in the course of his official visit to United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland he felt support on the part of the British Partners regarding the transference of the negotiations on Agreement on Association with EU and Free Trade Zone formation into the practical dimension. "It is obvious, that the practical decisions should be made", - he announced.
V. Lytvyn is also convinced that the Budapest Memorandum of the year 1994 regarding the guarantees of the Ukrainian security should receive the status of the political-legal document.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declared that the foreign policy of our country should be built taking into the consideration the moods of our citizens and necessity of the stable development of the state.
The Head of the Ukrainian Parliament noticed that "no one is going to engage Ukraine in NATO" hence according to him "it is logically to stop discussing this issue and solve the problems regarding the implementation of the Budapest Memorandum"
