First of all, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked for the comprehensive support of Ukraine, and especially for the increase in funding for defence assistance to Ukraine in the German budget for 2024 and the recently provided defence packages. “It is critically important not to reduce assistance to our country,” he stressed.

“The war continues and Ukraine will need further support, both financial and military,” said Ruslan Stefanchuk, adding that Ukraine expects these decisions, in particular, regarding support with weapons.

The parties discussed the implementation of the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi. Ruslan Stefanchuk noted that it is important that Germany supports this peaceful Ukrainian initiative and expressed hope for Germany's active participation in the global summit dedicated to the Peace Formula.

Special attention during the meeting was paid to the issues of interparliamentary cooperation and political support of the Bundestag, as well as Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic and European integration.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed gratitude for Germany's clear and leading position on all decisions in support of Ukraine's progress towards the European Union. In particular, the parties discussed further steps on Ukraine's path to full membership in the European Union.
