Despite the full-scale war of the russian federation, which disrupted the logistics of Ukrainian grain exports, European partner countries constantly support Ukraine in ensuring food security, the Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy informs.

Since the outbreak of the war, grain prices have risen significantly. In these circumstances, Ukraine and its partners launched the Grain from Ukraine initiative. Its goal is to support Ukrainian grain exports and ensure global food security.

Thus, the Government of Lithuania has allocated EUR 2 million for the humanitarian programme Grain from Ukraine implemented by Ukraine and its international partners. This is the second tranche from Lithuania to support this programme.

At the Food Security Summit in Ukraine, Norway is also planning to announce the allocation of 200 million krones to the World Food Programme, including the humanitarian programme Grain from Ukraine.

An additional NOK 50 million is planned to be transferred to the World Bank's Ukraine Fund. Norway plans to provide support to Ukraine as part of a five-year programme of support for Ukraine. NOK 50 million will be allocated to the humanitarian programme Grain from Ukraine.

An additional 150 million krones are to be transferred to the World Food Programme. In addition to providing food aid near the front line, the funds are to be used to clear agricultural land of mines, which should help farmers return to food production as soon as possible.

The 50 million krones is to be transferred to the World Bank's Ukraine Assistance, Recovery, Reconstruction and Reform Trust Fund. The Bank's ARISE agricultural programme provides farmers in Ukraine with access to finance.

Thus, the Grain from Ukraine initiative plays an important role in mitigating the negative impact of the war on the global food market and in strengthening Ukraine's ability to export grain, especially to vulnerable countries.
