The parties discussed a number of important issues, including the current situation at the frontline and in the energy sector, Ukraine’s defence needs, Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration, as well as the implementation of the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
First of all, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed gratitude for all the assistance that the Czech Republic has provided and continues to provide to Ukraine: military, financial and humanitarian. Following the meeting, he stressed that he had heard confirmation that the Czech Republic would continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine.
Ruslan Stefanchuk also thanked the Czech Republic for its willingness to help Ukraine on its way to EU membership. The Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine informed that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted all the legislative acts necessary to implement the recommendations of the European Commission.
“Next year, during the Washington Summit, Ukraine seeks to receive an invitation to join the Alliance and a clear understanding of the timeframe for membership,” the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stressed.
Finally,
the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine appealed to the President of the Czech
Republic, Petr Pavel, to consider becoming a co-leader in the implementation of
the fifth point of the Ukrainian Peace Formula, which provides for the
implementation of the UN Charter and the restoration of Ukraine’s territorial
integrity and the world order. The Czech Republic has already officially
confirmed its readiness to participate in the implementation of the first
point, Radiation and Nuclear Safety, in which it is a co-leader, as well as the
seventh point, Restoration of Justice.
