Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, calls for the Development of an Integral Program of Ukraine´s Development as a Maritime Nation
"It is necessary to develop an integral program of Ukraine´s development as a maritime nation, - stated V.Lytvyn on Thursday, answering the question concerning boosting of activity of Izmail Sea Trade Port and Ukrainian Danubian Steam Navigation. It is necessary to consider not only ports, but also shipbuilding and personnel training".
V.Lytvyn deems necessary to set up "a maritime board" to involve the people with the integral vision concerning solution of the branch issues.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine deems necessary to settle a number of issues concerning personnel policy of the branch. "The personnel policy must be reasonable. It is essential to refuse from the tradition, when such an important enterprise receives an incompetent director who dominates and represents central authorities, - he stated. Only a person who grew up at the enterprise, made the carrier and knows the essentials of the occupation can become a leader".
V.Lytvyn also deems necessary to re-open the issue concerning recovery of Ukraine´s losses due to the U.N. sanctions in the period of military conflict in former Yugoslavia. These losses totaled USD 600 million.
