State Policy in the Sphere of Relations between Nationalities should be aimed at the Satisfaction of Cultural and Religious Needs of each Nationality that lives on the Territory of Ukraine.
It was announced by the Chairman during the meeting with the citizens of Izmail town on Thursday.
Giving answers on the citizens´ questions, V. Lytvyn declared that he deems it necessary to "modernize" the law of former Ukrainian Soviet Social Republic on the languages in which Russian language is defined as the language of international communication. According to V. Lytvyn, after the elaboration the Law might be implemented in jurisdiction, education and other spheres of the living activity.
V. Lytvyn informed that in his opinion the issues on language, international relations and religion are those spheres where "one should be exact and with clean hands, like a surgeon". He suggested that the people should not believe politicians who promise before the elections to make the Russian language the second official.
Touching upon the issue on the relations between the nationalities, V. Lytvyn informed that the representatives of the each nationality have the right on the education in their native language and satisfaction of the personal cultural and religious needs. According to him, the presence of different nationalities on the territory of Ukraine and the support of each of them "would provide the firm "alloy" of the state".
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada has emphasized that the state "should take care" about the mutual understanding between the nations. He deems Odesa region as the example of the peaceful and friendly living of the different nationalities representatives. "Thanks God, that natural tolerance of the citizens of such a beautiful multinational region does not let the conflicts and problems on international level", - V. Lytvyn informed
As it was announced previously, V. Lytvyn would be staying during 1-2 of October with the working visit in Odessa region.
