The First Vice-Speaker Oleksandr Korniienko presented the employees of Ihor Sikorskyi Kyiv Polytechnic Institute with the awards of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine

The First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko took part in the celebrations on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the Ihor Sikorskyi Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

During the event, the First Vice-Speaker awarded the employees of the institute, in particular, the Certificate of Honour of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to Serhii Pukh, the Chief Engineer of the Design Department “STORM”, and the Certificate of Honour of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to Serhii Stirenko, the Head of the Department of Computer Engineering of the Faculty of Informatics and Computer Engineering, “for a significant contribution to the development of education and science, high production and scientific achievements, conscientious work and professional achievements, fruitful scientific, scientific-pedagogical and pedagogical activities, successes in the education and upbringing of the younger generation and on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of Ihor Sikorskyi Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.

“Every day we face huge challenges. It is in Ihor Sikorskyi Kyiv Polytechnic Institute that important achievements in the defence sector have been developed over the years, so the role of the university and attention to it will only grow,” said Oleksandr Korniienko.

He emphasised that no matter what direction is mentioned, Polytechnic can participate in each of them, in particular, in renewable energy and recycling technologies.

“We remember all the representatives of the big polytechnic family who are no longer with us and became Heroes defending our Ukraine. Thanks to them, we are getting closer to the victory and we can continue to do everything for it,” the First Vice Speaker said.

Oleksandr Korniienko also wished all students and teachers to continue working and doing their best under the slogan: “Together we know more than alone”.

“Wherever a graduate of Ihor Sikorskyi Kyiv Polytechnic Institute finds himself later, he will always remember the values and principles laid down by respected teachers who have always guided us to be exactly what we all are: patriotic, thoughtful, asking questions and looking for answers,” the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine said in conclusion.

The event was also attended by members of the Ukrainian Parliament: Yuliia Hryshyna, the Head of the Subcommittee on Higher Education of the Committee on Education, Science and Innovation, Roman Hryshchuk, the Member of the Committee on Education, Science and Innovation, and Andrii Klochko, the Member of the Committee on State Building, Local Government, Regional Development and Urban Planning.
