The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk met with representatives of the diplomatic missions of the Group of Seven countries and the European Union.

“The course of reforms in Ukraine is the main topic of the meeting with the Group of Ambassadors of the Group of Seven and the European Union,” Ruslan Stefanchuk said first of all.

He expressed his gratitude to the Group of Seven for their assistance in the military, financial and economic spheres.

“The Parliament of Ukraine has always been and remains a body open to cooperation,” said the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, adding that Ukraine is actively working to implement the seven recommendations of the European Commission.

At the same time, Ruslan Stefanchuk noted that a successful reform process will determine the future of Ukraine as a European state, a member of the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation.

The parties discussed several important issues, including the resumption of asset declarations under martial law and financial reporting by political parties.

The meeting touched upon reforms and strengthening the capacity of the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.

The participants also discussed the corporate governance of state-owned enterprises, which is envisaged by the Draft Law “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Improving Corporate Governance of Legal Entities in Which the State Is a Shareholder (Founder, Participant)” (Reg. No. 5593-d).

In conclusion, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine thanked the partners for their support, advice and recommendations.
