The Committee members scrutinized the Bill on Amendments to the Law "On Baby Food" (re Enhancement of Requirements for the Production and Turnover of Foodstuffs) (Reg. No.4584). The Bill enhances requirements for the production and turnover of baby food, coordinates the terminology of the law with the similar terminology of international documents, eliminates discrepancies between the requirements of the national and international legislation and sets stricter requirements to the marking of baby foodstuffs.
The Committee recognized the Bill as such that complies with the EU legislation.
The Committee members also scrutinized the Bill on Amendments to the Family Code of Ukraine (re Adoption) (Reg. No. 3567). The Bill excludes the regulations appertaining to the maximum age difference between the adopter and the child from the Family Code.
The Committee recognized the Bill as such that complies with the international legal commitments of Ukraine. The international documents on adoption do not fix the maximum age difference between the adopter and the child directly; however, they require that each State observes the principle of securing the children rights.
