Today, Mykola Tomenko, Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, stays with a working visit in Cherkasy region. On the eve of the Teachers Day, he visited Stepanky, Heronymivka and Verhuny secondary schools of Cherkasy region jointly with Volodymyr Hres, Head of Cherkasy Regional Council. M.Tomenko met the children and the school teachers, sent his greetings on the occasion of the upcoming holiday and presented the CDs, books for the libraries and sports equipment.
M.Tomenko stated that in spite of the complicated situation, the government of Yulia Tymoshenko considered social and humanitarian matters to be of priority. He stated that a number of resolutions had been adopted and would be implemented irregardless of the Parliament´s work.
"Thus, the wages of librarians shall increase by 50% since 1 October. The Draft State Budget for the next year envisages the increase of a minimum wage and wages of the budgetary employees. It also increases the rate of wages of the teachers and physicians, envisages additional payments for the record of service to the medical workers and extra 15-per-cent premium bonuses to the teachers. The Draft State Budget also envisages additional payments to the pensioners who receive a minimum pension, the veterans and the disabled", - stressed M.Tomenko.
He also announced the start of implementation of the governmental land certificates program.
"Presently, we hear a plenty of conversations concerning assistance in the social and humanitarian fields, however, it is necessary to act in practice, not in theory", - he stated.
