The Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement recommends that The Verkhovna Rada adopts as a Basis the Bill on Amendments to Clauses 346, 351, 385 and 386 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine regarding Enhancement of Responsibility for putting Artificial Obstacles to the Work of the Ad Hoc Inquiry Panels, Special Ad Hoc Inquiry Panels and Ad Hoc Special Panels of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine

The Bill (Reg.№3594) envisages supplementation of the Criminal Code with the norms that presuppose the liability for the following actions :threat of murder, injure or property damage and also of kidnapping or liberty deprivation regarding the Ad Hoc and Temporary Panels of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine members and their close relatives; denial of the Ad Hoc and Temporary Panels of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine member activity; denial of implementation by the public official the legitimate demands of the Ad Hoc and Temporary Panels of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine member, placing of obstacles in their work, giving deliberately false evidence to them and also increase of the minimal penalty rate for the illegal action from one hundred tax-free allowances to two hundreds.

 

The Committee has upheld the Bill that would facilitate the effectiveness of the Ad Hoc and Temporary Panels of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine work.
