Ruslan Stefanchuk: Ukraine highly appreciates Guatemala's consistent and clear position on condemnation of russian armed aggression

This was stated by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk during a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Guatemala Mario Adolfo Bucaro Flores.
The Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament thanked for Guatemala's consistent and clear position on condemning russia's armed aggression against our country and stressed that Ukraine highly appreciates it.
The main issues of the meeting were important topics for further cooperation between the two countries and, in particular, support for Ukraine in its fight against the aggressor russia.
"russia continues to commit crimes in Ukraine, killing civilians and destroying civilian infrastructure. That is why it is important for Ukraine to recognise russia as a terrorist state by the Congress of Guatemala," Ruslan Stefanchuk stressed during the meeting.
The parties also discussed the President Volodymyr Zelenskyi's Peace Formula. Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked Guatemala for supporting this initiative and stressed that "the unity of Latin American countries is extremely important for the support and active cooperation with Ukraine in the implementation of this Peace Formula".
The President of the Parliament also emphasized the role of Guatemala in the establishment of a special tribunal for the crime of aggression against Ukraine, in particular, thanked for the leadership shown by the Republic, which was the first Latin American country to join the Core Group for the establishment of such a tribunal for russia.
The interlocutors also discussed the issue of inter-parliamentary cooperation and interaction between the parliaments of the two countries. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine noted that the Ukrainian Parliament is interested in a high level of support for inter-parliamentary relations, in particular through personal communication between speakers, interaction of friendship groups, cooperation with committees, etc.
At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament extended an invitation to the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Guatemala to participate in the Second Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimean Platform in Prague this autumn, stressing that the participation of the Republic is very important for Ukraine.
For his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Guatemala, Mario Adolfo Bucaro Flores, assured that his visit demonstrates Guatemala's solidarity with Ukraine and confirms the Republic's intention to continue supporting our country in difficult times.
In particular, he said that Guatemala is working hard to exclude russia from many international organizations, supports all UN resolutions aimed at isolating russia in the world and is actively involved in efforts to establish a special international tribunal for the aggressor country.
