Oleksandr Korniienko: Each provided equipment and weapons is a great contribution to the future victory

In the framework of his working visit, the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko met with the First Deputy President of the French Senate Roger Karoutchi and Senator from the Nievre department and Chair of the France-Ukraine Friendship Group of the French Senate Nadia Sollogoub.
The parties discussed the peace formula of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
First of all, the First Vice-Speaker expressed his gratitude to the French Senate for the recent resolutions adopted. In particular, the recognition of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people and the call for the institutions and countries of the European Union to collect evidence of the forced deportation of Ukrainian children to russia, imposing sanctions on russian officials involved in these crimes.
“Our country will become a reliable European partner,” said the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. He informed about the status of implementation of the recommendations of the European Commission and Ukraine’s expectations to open the negotiation process this year.
“Ukraine is very grateful to France for its support. Every piece of equipment and weaponry provided is a great contribution to the future victory and stopping the aggressor,” Oleksandr Korniienko stressed, noting the importance of continuing military assistance.
In addition, the parties raised the issue of the return of captured local government representatives. The First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine called for support for their release.
