During his working visit to the French Republic, the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko met with the OECD SIGMA Programme Manager Gregor Virant and OECD Director of Public Administration Elsa Pilichowski.
The First Deputy Speaker thanked for the support of reforms and welcomed the opening of the OECD office in Ukraine. “This decision will allow us to improve coordination and cooperation with international partners and member states of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development,” he said.
At the same time, Oleksandr Korniienko reported on the governance reform. The parties discussed the next steps – reforming and establishing a fair system of remuneration for employees.
In addition, the participants touched upon the work of civil servants in wartime, the return of competitions for these positions and corporate governance, and the active involvement of the OECD in the development of relevant legislation in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
The First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development and SIGMA for their ongoing work and invited them to participate in the next events within the framework of public administration reform in Ukraine.
