The First Vice-Speaker Oleksandr Korniienko met with the First Deputy President of the National Assembly of France

In the framework of the working visit, the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko met with the First Deputy President of the National Assembly of France Valerie Rabault.
First of all, the First Vice-Speaker informed about the current situation in Ukraine and missile attacks, as the enemy continues to pursue its criminal ideas, having recently increased the number of missile attacks. “It is thanks to the help of our partners that we have a high level of repulsion of these attacks,” he said.
“Today, we are protecting the security future of both Ukraine and the European continent,” Oleksandr Korniienko stressed, emphasising the importance of military assistance, in particular, strengthening air defence and creating a coalition of aircraft.
In addition, the First Vice Speaker informed his colleague about the work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the European integration track: “Ukraine is striving to become a member of the European family and NATO, and we expect important decisions in these areas.”
The parties also discussed countering russian narratives among the countries of the Global South.
At the same time, Oleksandr Korniienko said that the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, with the participation of the Ukrainian delegation, had adopted a crucial resolution recognising russia’s crimes against Ukraine as genocide of the Ukrainian people and the terrorist regime of the russian federation as ruscism. “That is why Ukraine appeals to NATO member states to ensure that Ukraine receives specific wording on the possibility of future accession at the Vilnius Summit,” he stressed.
Oleksandr Korniienko expressed his gratitude to the French National Assembly for the recent important decisions, in particular, on the recognition of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as genocide of the Ukrainian people and the wagner group as a terrorist organisation. He also called to continue this victorious movement towards justice and to recognise the russian federation as a terrorist state.
In conclusion, the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine thanked for the assistance in the struggle, as Ukraine is now defending European common values and democracy.
