This was stated by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine during a meeting with the Minister of European Union Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden, Jessika Roswall.

Ruslan Stefanchuk noted that support is important for Ukraine on its way to the European Union: "We are currently holding final discussions with experts from the European Commission, the Council of Europe and the Venice Commission on improving Ukrainian legislation."

He assured the Swedish Minister of EU Affairs that Ukraine is ready to implement all the recommendations of the European Commission. In particular, the Parliament of Ukraine has identified the adaptation of Ukrainian legislation to the provisions of EU law as one of its main tasks.

"At the EU-Ukraine summit in February this year, the European Commission handed over an Analytical Report on the compliance of Ukrainian legislation with the acquis," said Ruslan Stefanchuk, adding that a self-screening of the compliance of Ukrainian legislation with EU law is currently underway, after which a National Programme for the Adaptation of the acquis will be prepared.

The Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine also stressed that in addition to European integration, the most important issue is the end of this war through Ukraine's victory. "The assistance of Sweden and all our partners on this path is critically important for us. We look forward to continued military, financial and humanitarian support, including the transfer of the latest weapons, which will bring our victory closer," he said, expressing gratitude for the assistance already provided.

"Sweden is a good friend of Ukraine. We are doing everything possible to support Ukraine in various areas: humanitarian, political and military," said Jessika Roswall, the Minister for European Union Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden, adding that support for Ukraine is a top priority for Sweden.

She also noted that Ukraine has made great progress in implementing the recommendations to prepare for full accession to the EU: "It is very important that Ukraine implements the reforms in line with the seven recommendations of the European Commission. Sweden supports you in these reforms and will continue to do so in the future."

"It is very important for us to start negotiations on Ukraine's membership in the European Union by the end of this year," said the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk.
