The Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement recommends that the Verkhovna Rada adopts as a Basis the Bill on Amendments to the Criminal Procedural Code of Ukraine regarding the Improvement of the Victim Status

The Bill (Reg.№4492) suggested by the People´s Deputy of Ukraine, V. Moisyk envisages the broadening of the victim´s rights and provide guarantees of his protection through the improvement of the legal status of this person representative, possibility of his compulsory participation during witness an inquest on a body.

The bill also envisages the implementation of the institute of victim refusal from the representative services, his substitution etc.

V. Moisyk argued in favor of the bill adoption the fact of the necessity of the formation of such criminal case proceeding where the principal figure would be victim.

"It is essential to provide the victim with the rights on protection of his rights and legal interests", - V. Moisyk declared.

The members of the Committee upheld the bill the adoption of which according to them would let Ukraine implement its duties in the sphere of human rights protection and would also provide victim with right on essential protection on all the stages of criminal proceedings.
