The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine met the Ambassadors of the EU countries, the USA, Canada, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Moldova.
During the meeting, the participants shared their thoughts concerning the processes that took place in Ukraine and the issues on strengthening of interparliamentray connections.
According to V.Lytvyn, "it was hard to avoid the discussion of the situation in Ukraine, as the problems in the Parliament reflect the life in the country".
Giving answers regarding the Law on the Elections of the President of Ukraine, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada declared that "it is the law of two big factions that have rejected all the propositions that might have made it more civilized".
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed his hopes that "life would not let the scenario that is out of common sense". The crisis has testified that the period of socialism for Ukraine is finished and the state building is possible only on the basis of civilized approaches.
The leader of the Ukrainian Parliament is convinced that the election campaign should become the contest of ideas in order to give Ukraine a possibility to become of new quality.
Diplomats expressed their hopes that the presidential elections in Ukraine would be held on democratic and legal basis as only in such a way the cooperation development with the EU was possible
