Mykola Tomenko: In order to commence the Work of the Parliament one should at least start attending its Sittings

Mykola Tomenko, the Vice-Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Mykola Tomenko today has emphasized that in order the parliament starts its working, certain people´s deputies should first of all start attending the sittings of the Verkhovna Rada.

As the discussion is being continued concerning how to organize the work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, in plenary regime in particular, M. Tomenko is surprised that his Bill "On the work of the Verkhovna Rada during the period of the President´s of Ukraine elections campaign" that is an extreme measure to convince everybody that if one does not want to work here, one should not sit at the Verkhovna Rada at the expense of the budget funds but should occupy seats in their own pre-elections offices. Otherwise, deputies should work in districts during ninety days and occupy the status of a "leave without pay""

"I am surprised that such an approach awoke serious incomprehension, first of all among many candidates for the post of the president who are not working in the Verkhovna Rada for the long time or among people´s deputies who should not be proud of the excellent behaviour and activeness in legislative work", - he declared.

For the journalist´s request, the Vice-Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine made public the results of the today´s written vote by roll-call for the time 11-20. In particular:

Party id Regions among 173 People´s Deputies - 86, that is 49% .

"Our Ukraine-Self-Defence" from 72 - 29 (40%);

Communists Factions from 27 - 8 (29%);

"Yulia Tymoshenko Block" from 156 missing 43 (27%);
