Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada: during the Period of Disorder the Adoption of the State Budget should be of Prior Significance

 

On Saturday, Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, took part in the celebration of the 1125th anniversary of foundation of Zhytomyr city.

 

Sending his greetings to the residents of Zhytomyr, V.Lytvyn stressed that "Ukraine will always exist owing to such people as the residents of Zhytomyr the people with their own outlook, who work for the sake of peace and welfare".  

 

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated that Zhytomyr should serve as an example for the whole Ukraine. He joked that the ancient Zhytomyr could have been a capital, as "a number of Ukrainian lands converge here; it sets an example of how one must live, work and provide for the future of one´s children".

 

V.Lytvyn stated that visiting Zhytomyr region, he felt a special surge of inspiration, as it was his small Motherland.

 

"Today, I have seen a real holiday - a holiday for the people who were not forced to come. However, I wish that more work teams were represented in the holiday columns", - stressed the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. It would symbolize that the country and the economy are capable and that people have the grounds to take pride in their enterprises and the city.

 

As far as the possibility of adopting the State budget at the today´s sitting of the Government was concerned, V.Lytvyn stated that it was a problem of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, not the Government. At the same time, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated that adoption of the budget in the period of political disorder should be of priority.  

 

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine also believes that the next year´s budget will be of social nature. However, V.Lytvyn stressed the necessity to make every effort to boost the development of industry. He also underscored that the country needed a dialogue at all the levels.

 

V.Lytvyn presented the prominent residents of Zhytomyr with the diplomas and decorations of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for the substantial contribution into the development of the city.
