The First Vice-Speaker Oleksandr Korniienko met with the EU Commissioner for Budget and Administration Johannes Hahn

The First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko held a working meeting with the European Union Commissioner for Budget and Management Johannes Hahn, headed by the EU delegation, including the Director General of the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) Ville Itala.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to financial control in the use of funds from partners and the implementation of effective and transparent financial control mechanisms in place in Europe into Ukrainian legislation.

“We are determined to make every effort to achieve maximum results in the implementation of the seven recommendations for the European Commission’s spring assessment,” said the First Vice Speaker, adding that Ukraine is working in this direction.

At the same time, Oleksandr Korniienko noted that Ukraine highly appreciates the crucial role of the European Union in mobilising financial resources to support Ukraine, in particular through macro-financial assistance.

“Importing European of European anti-corruption experience on the way to victory is no less important than financial assistance from our partners,” said Danylo Hetmantsev, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy.

The meeting was also attended by Olha Vasylevska-Smahliuk, the Head of the Subcommittee on the Functioning of Payment and Information Systems and Prevention of Money Laundering of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy.
