Mykola Tomenko: The Parade of Promises of the Candidates for Presidency should be stopped
Staying in Crimea, Mykola Tomenko, Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, stressed the necessity of making presidential election campaign more pragmatic.
"In Crimea, I have seen the bill-boards of different candidates for presidency that include a great many promises. Some candidates promise water, other candidates language or roads, the others promise Sevastopol to Russia", - he stated.
M.Tomenko deems necessary to stop the parade of promises of the candidates for presidency, and suggest anti-recessionary projects instead. "The crucial matters must be settled: it is necessary to determine the urgent measures to be taken to overcome the recession and the methods of the future president´s team to reach this goal", - he underscored. "Only the answer to these questions, - stated M.Tomenko. will enable a pragmatic and rational discussion in the period of presidential election campaign".
The Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine drew attention to the fact that such candidates for presidency as A.Yatseniuk, I.Bohoslovska, V.Yanukovych, placed their outdoor advertisements in Russian, which contradicts the effective legislation.
As far as the chances of the candidates for presidency are concerned, M.Tomenko believes that "Viktor Yanukovych and Yulia Tymoshenko are the only two real candidates". "They carry on the main struggle", - he stated.
