Mykola Tomenko: It is Necessary to verify the Legitimacy of Construction Works in the Area of one of the Nominees to the 7 Natural Wonders of Ukraine

Today, Mykola Tomenko, Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, addressed the General Prosecution and the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Ukraine with a request to verify the information promulgated in the mass media, especially in the article "Fiolent is already sawn up" in "Hazeta po-kievski" newspaper concerning chipping of a cliff and start of construction works at the reserve territory of Cape Fiolent.

 

As the Head of the Organizing Committee of the "7 Wonders of Ukraine" action, M.Tomenko addressed the General Prosecution and the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Ukraine and informed them that Balaklava Bay with Cape Aya and Cape Fiolent participated in the contest "7 Wonders of Ukraine" and were nominated for a special award as unique natural places of the Crimea.   

 

The Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stressed that the State Department of Environmental Safety of the city of Sevastopol did not issue a permit for the chipping of the cliff and the start of construction works at the reserve territory of Cape Fiolent
