The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasized in a commentary to Interfax-Ukraine that he expects the Munich Security Conference to be productive in terms of Ukraine.

“Representatives of the Ukrainian delegation are participating in separate panels dedicated to security issues,” said the Speaker of the Parliament, adding that a number of bilateral meetings are planned.

“This will be another productive visit for both the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and Ukraine as a whole. But there is also something that does not play in Ukraine’s favor – time,” said Ruslan Stefanchuk, emphasizing that it is very important for Ukraine that everything discussed is implemented as soon as possible: supplies, training and financial assistance.

He noted that it is important that as little time as possible is spent from the moment a decision is made to the moment of implementation.

At the same time, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine emphasized that in the year since the beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the rhetoric of world leaders towards both countries has changed dramatically.

“There is almost no talk of russia at these meetings – everyone is talking about Ukraine,” said Ruslan Stefanchuk. He added that another important topic was the issue of the Global South: “The position of the countries of Africa, Asia, and Latin America in support of Ukraine is also a priority today. But the number one issue is the end of this terrible war in the center of Europe, and only with Ukraine’s victory”.
