"The Verkhovna Rada demonstrates that the Cabinet of Ministers and its ruling majority neglect their duties as regards the minimum social standards. Definitely, the Parliament will not scrutinize any other issues, unless the said matter is settled", - stated Oleksandr Lavrynovych, First Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, in the program at Radio "Melodia", commenting upon the possible development of events at the Parliament.
Oleksandr Lavrynovych deems necessary to take into account the requirements of the Party of Regions to the Government and the pro-governmental majority. Thus, the latter must act in compliance with the national legislation and increase the rates of the minimum wage and pensions.
The First Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated: "It is unreasonable that the Faction suggests holding an extraordinary plenary meeting before any plenary meetings are held, and calls for scrutinizing 41 Bills, understanding that some of the Bills are non-existent and the others were submitted and later withdrawn by the Cabinet of Ministers. There was no need is such an urgent meeting".
He stated that initiators of the extraordinary meting "could have raised and settled the matters anytime, but for the wish to organize such a festival. These festivals will cost exactly the same, as the increase of minimum wage and pensions, which could settle the issue raised by the Party of Regions Faction".
