Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, states that he did not commit a Violation, signing the Decree on the Non-Payment of Wages to the People´s Deputies for the Period the Parliament is being blocked

 

V.Lytvyn made the above-mentioned statement, answering the questions of the journalists at the Tuesday´s briefing.

 

"I am harshly criticized; my resolution is regarded as "a wrong one", - he stated and added that The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine could cancel the resolution. "They are welcome to cancel the decree or appeal to court", - stated V.Lytvyn.   

 

In response to the reproaches concerning violation of the Standing Orders, he stressed that the Deputies should not have violated the Standing Orders, legislation and the Constitution themselves, blocking the Parliament´s work.  

 

The Head of the Parliament stated that the decree of the Chairman set the rate of wages of the People´s Deputies. Thus, V.Lytvyn did not commit a violation.

 

V.Lytvyn promised that the calculation of wages on such days would be promulgated at the official web-page of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
