The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk met with Isabelle Dumont, the Advisor to the President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron

At the beginning of the meeting, Ruslan Stefanchuk expressed gratitude to the French people and President Macron for their leadership in international support of Ukraine.
“I am grateful to you for the active support and expansion of the international coalition that stands by Ukraine. We are meeting with you in a very difficult period of the escalation of the phase of russia’s war against Ukraine. russia, which has no success on the battlefield, continues to terrorize the civilian population of Ukraine,” Ruslan Stefanchuk said.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a number of important issues for further support of Ukraine in its fight against the aggressor.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine invited French politicians to support President Zelenskyi's important initiative – the “peace formula”, in particular, France’s accession to the joint statement and patronage of the sections of the formula offered to each individual country.
In addition, the participants discussed the isolation of russia and the application of appropriate international legal sanctions against it; russia’s responsibility for its crimes in Ukraine, and thus the creation of a special tribunal to punish war criminals; nuclear safety and support for Ukrainian citizens who have found refuge from the war in France.
The Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament also thanked France for the steady military assistance that Ukraine receives from France, in particular for President Macron’s decision to provide us with appropriate tanks.
“This is a real leadership demonstrated not only at the EU level but also at the global level. Therefore, I am very grateful,” Ruslan Stefanchuk said.
The Advisor to the President of the French Republic Isabelle Dumont assured Ukrainian parliamentarians of further support for Ukraine and its fight against the unprovoked war.
She recalled the recent action in support of Ukraine in France, which strengthened not only general political assistance, but also specific financial assistance.
“We attach great importance to this event for our cooperation and its further development. France has played a leadership role by bringing together a large number of countries in Paris to isolate russia,” Isabelle Dumont said, adding that it is very important that this work is not a one-time event.According to her, the common task of the countries participating in the conference is to develop a mechanism for the effective implementation of the outlined areas of work on the issue of isolating russia on the world stage.
“There is a great need to use this mechanism by maintaining this broad coalition of countries. Today, unfortunately, this mechanism is not properly utilized. France, for its part, will certainly fulfil all its promises to support Ukraine,” Isabelle Dumont assured the Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament.
