The Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada addressed the plenary meeting of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Benelux.

She noted that Ukrainians are grateful and proud of Ukraine’s partners in Europe and the world, who have been helping our country for all nine months of the active phase of the war.

“But now we need allies! What allies do we need? First of all, we need allies who would clearly say: russia is a terrorist state. I thank the Parliament of the Netherlands, which recently adopted such a decision. And I call on the parliaments of Belgium and Luxembourg to do the same!

The time for halftones is over. It is time to call black black and white white. Security guarantees are needed for those who are attacked, not for those who attack,” stressed Olena Kondratiuk.

The Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada also thanked Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg for helping Ukraine and sheltering tens of thousands of our citizens.

“On behalf of five thousand Ukrainian women with children who found refuge from the war in Luxembourg. On behalf of 60 thousand Ukrainian women who now live in safety in Belgium. On behalf of 80 thousand Ukrainians who have been sheltered by the Netherlands. I speak on their behalf: Thank you!” Olena Kondratiuk said in her speech.

The Vice Speaker stressed that “the Ukrainian army defends not only the native land, but also the borders of Europe day and night, without a break for weekends and Christmas holidays”.
