During a working visit to the Kingdom of Belgium, the Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk met with President of the Parliament of Benelux (Interparliamentary Assembly) Patricia Creutz.
The parties discussed the issues of russian aggression and inter-parliamentary cooperation.
The Benelux condemns the unprovoked aggression of russia against Ukraine and does not recognize the annexation of Ukrainian territories, Mrs. Creutz assured her Ukrainian colleague. According to her, one of the main priorities of the agenda of the Benelux as a political and economic union of Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg is the assistance and participation in the reconstruction of Ukraine.
“We are counting on the leadership of Benelux in the restoration, reconstruction and modernization of civilian infrastructure of Ukraine, destroyed and damaged by massive terrorist missile attacks of russia. After all, Benelux has a significant economic, resource and expert potential, generating almost 8 percent of the GDP of the entire European Union,” the Vice-Speaker Olena Kondratiuk stressed during the meeting.
