"Ukraine is always happy to receive its friends and personally thank them for the assistance and support provided to our side in the brutal war started by russia," said the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko during a working meeting with a delegation of the Slovak Republic headed by Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Rastislav Kacer.
On behalf of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk and all the people's deputies of Ukraine, the First Vice-Speaker conveyed greetings to the National Council of the Slovak Republic for the consistent support at the parliamentary level. He also thanked his colleagues for the comprehensive support provided by Slovakia to Ukraine: "I use every meeting as an opportunity to emphasize the need to arm and support our state in the energy sector, providing generators and transformers".
In addition, Oleksandr Korniienko emphasized the need to continue to assist Ukraine in strengthening air defense, in which Slovakia was one of the first. "We are forced to continue to ask for such assistance in air defense, because a new infrastructural terror has begun in Ukraine since October 10," he noted, adding that in the direction of military-technical assistance Ukraine also needs to increase the supply of artillery systems, equipment and ammunition to them.
"We have recently been in the East. All the fighters say the only request is to increase ammunition, because everything else is there — morale and modern means of warfare," Oleksandr Korniienko informed about his recent visit to Donetsk region.
"Despite the war and difficult economic conditions, we are working with the Ministry of Infrastructure, customs services and border guards to improve the situation on the border. Ukraine needs to develop land export to the European Union," the First Vice Speaker noted.
"Ukraine has like-minded people who, like us, want to end the war. They are ready to go with us to the end — to the victory of Ukraine. The whole world, the whole Europe is against the russian aggression — for the Ukrainian peace!" —concluded the First Deputy Chairman of the Parliament of Ukraine.
