Mykola Tomenko: Construction of Sports Objects is one of the Most Important Tasks to support the Healthy Lifestyle and save Ukrainian Nation from Alcoholism
Mykola Tomenko, Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, made the above-mentioned statement at the opening of the sports ground constructed with the assistance of the Fund "Spravedlyva Kraina" at the Ukrainian school-gymnasium of Simferopol.
After the open lesson, M.Tomenko spoke with the pupils and the teachers of the school and stated that the project "Healthy and Sporty Lifestyle is in Fashion" was of priority in the activity of the Fund "Spravedlyva Kraina". The aim of the project is to restore the fashion of healthy lifestyle in the Ukrainian society. According to M.Tomenko, the project also envisages legislative support, i.e. legislative prerequisites of promotion of physical culture and sports and struggle for the healthy way of life.
The Fund also supports renovation and construction of new sports infrastructure for the mass sports. The newly-opened sports ground in the Crimea became another achievement of the Fund.
The Vice-Chairman stated that the sports infrastructure that was built for traditional kinds of sport in Ukraine had been destroyed under the pretext of preparation for EURO-2012.
The Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stated that "one shall not lobby one´s commercial interests under the pretext of preparation for EURO-2012, destroying sports objects and build restaurants and hotels on their place".
M.Tomenko stressed that only development of sports infrastructure could protect the youth from alcoholism and create conditions for the healthy development of children.
