Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, presented awards of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine.

 

The Awards of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine "for the merits before the Ukrainian people in facilitation of independence establishment, actions for the provision of liberties, development of democracy, parliamentarism, high professionalism and on the occasion of the Independence Day" are intended for the deputies, judges, personnel and prosecution officers, journalists, customs officers, scientists, medical specialists, artists.

 

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declared that Ukraine became a state "that lives and will be a State". V. Lytvyn stressed that the authorities should appreciate their common responsibility for the state building and, consequently, should act responsibly.

 

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine highly appraised the people awarded for the development of the Ukrainian State. "Each of you possesses a number of merits before the Ukrainian people", - he declared.
