The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk informed that the Parliament has registered a draft resolution “On the Statement of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the recognition of the russian regime as a terrorist one, illegitimacy of the russian federation’s membership in the United Nations and its reform, responsibility of members of russian political parties that support aggression”.

According to him, russia considers itself the successor of the USSR in the UN, although in 1991 the USSR, as a state and a subject of international law, ceased to exist. Therefore, Ruslan Stefanchuk assured, russia cannot have the status of the successor state of the USSR.

“It is absurd that a terrorist state can influence decision-making in the UN, and, moreover, veto them. Therefore, Ukraine calls for the reform of such an important international organization. This is what we will appeal to the parliaments and governments of foreign countries,” the Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament emphasized, predicting a quick approval of this Resolution in the parliamentary hall.
