Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, is convinced that the problems of the rural area must be settled by the experts.

Visiting Sorochynsky fair, V.Lytvyn stated that the Parliament should have adopted the Bill drafted by the Lytvyn Bloc on a commission from the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to support the rural area.

V.Lytvyn explains the disregard for the document: "The political forces that refused to vote for the Bill cooperate with those who expect that the peasants will be obliged to sell the grain for a trifle".

V.Lytvyn reminded of his proposition to introduce pledge prices before the harvest. The Bill drafted by the Faction envisaged UAH 3 billion to fund the said intention in order to relieve the tension at the grain market.

"Only responsible people who know and understand the problems of the rural area and have no connections with oligarchic clans can deal with the rural matters in order to overcome the recession in the agro-industrial field", - stated the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

V.Lytvyn deems necessary to implement the effective laws that regulate relations in the agro-industrial complex. He stated that the law on the priority development of the rural area envisaged the funds in the amount of 1% of the GDP to be allocated for the development of the socio-cultural sphere in the rural area.

Visiting Sorochynsky fair, V.Lytvyn stated: "As one can not visit the fair or return from it empty-handed, I took a number of copies of my study-book "History of Ukraine". Definitely, I did not sell it, but presented it to those interested in history".

V.Lytvyn purchased pitchers, "a nice Reshetyliv towel" and other handicraft wares.

During the working visit to Poltava region, V.Lytvyn also met the residents of the cities of Hrebinka and Hlobino.
