The Bill (Reg. No.4329) introduces a number of amendments to the effective Law that enhance fighting corruption by the special departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The authors of the Bill deem necessary to amend the Law in view of inadequacy of legal means for fighting organized crime and corruption and the necessity to enhance fighting corruption by the special departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

However, the Committee members believe that regulations of the Bill aim not at the fighting corruption, but at the change of names of the special departments of the internal affairs bodies.

Moreover, the People´s Deputies stressed that the Law "On Organizational-Legal Principles of fighting Organized Corruption" determined the system of bodies in charge of fighting organized crime. The Laws "On fighting Corruption" and "On prevention and fighting Corruption" determined the bodies in charge of fighting corruption.
