"Together with the Government, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine continues work on implementing the recommendations of the European Commission and the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.» This was stated during a meeting with Oliver Varhelyi, European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement.

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk informed that in particular, concerning judicial reform and the field of fighting corruption, the Parliament adopted some decisions.

«It is primarily about the adopted Anti-corruption Strategy for 2021-2025 and the election of two members of the High Council of Justice according to the parliamentary quota.» Ruslan Stefanchuk added.

Mr. Stefanchuk noted that Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law on Disclosure of Information on Ultimate Beneficiaries (FATF Standards) (No. 6320), and, in the first reading, adopted a draft law on improving the procedure for selecting candidates for the position of judge of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine (No. 7662).

«Despite the war, we are moving towards the EU.» The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine emphasized.

«I expect that already in December, the European Commission will evaluate the implementation of the recommendations. Because the next stage is the beginning of the negotiation process on joining the EU.» Mr. Stefanchuk said at the end of the meeting.
