Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, calls for the Development of State Policy in the Field of Agricultural Engineering
On Wednesday, V.Lytvyn answered the questions of the journalists concerning the complicated situation around Kherson combine plant. He reminded of the fact that he met the representatives of trade union and strikers of the plant, and the situation concerning reimbursement of arrears in wages was partly settled.
V.Lytvyn stated that the employees of the plant had addressed him for the second time with a request that the Parliament scrutinized the issue concerning nationalization of the enterprise.
The Head of the Ukrainian Parliament stated that he was willing to support the suggestion, provided all the matters concerning the debts of the enterprise were settled beforehand to prevent institution of proceedings against the personnel.
V.Lytvyn believes that the lack of State policy in the field of agricultural engineering is the crucial problem.
"This problem requires a complex approach and reasonable responsible actions, - stressed V.Lytvyn. The understanding of the importance of agricultural production for our country is crucial. It is not just an economic category, but our life, as a Ukrainian soul stands for the home, church and land".
V.Lytvyn commented upon the activity of the local authorities of Kherson region. He stated: "My judgment is the same as yours". He believes that even one characteristic is sufficient to make the conclusion: an average wage rate in the region is by UAH 600 lower than the average rate in the country.
Reportedly, on 25-26 August, V.Lytvyn stays with a working visit in Mykolaiv and Kherson regions.
