Volodymyr Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declared that he would be Strong President for the People

Volodymyr Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine within the working visit to Zaporizhia Region on the 20th of July 2009, in the course of the press-conference giving the answers to the questions whether he would be strong President, declared that "everything depends on what one might understand under the term "strength"".

According to him "one may beat and scream loudly", but he would be simply "President for the People". "When there would be a need the power would be demonstrated, - he declared. The only thing that I can promise, - hard working in the sweat of my brow".

The Chairman o the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine deems it necessary that "there should be normal evaluation of the people´s work that is sufficient salaries and respect of all the people".  "Each person would respect himself when they would have possibility to work and receive good salary and would have the work they adore. Consequently we would have respect to the country, - V. Lytvyn stressed. Competition of these demands is the distinctive feature of the Strong President. Everything else is definitions. There would be a lot of them before the elections".
