The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine welcomes the decision of the European Council to completely suspend the simplified visa regime with Russia. Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk, wrote about this on her Facebook page.

«The day before, we, people's deputies of Ukraine, by a resolution of the Verkhovna Rada appealed to European institutions to approve the relevant decision. After all, traveling freely in Europa is not a human right, but a privilege granted to those countries and peoples that share common values ??with the European Union.» Olana Kondratiuk informed.

She remained that after half a year of the Russian genocide of the Ukrainian people, 70% of Russia continue to support the bloody, brutal and criminal war against Ukraine waged by their terrorist and murderous state. «The responsibility for this was, is, and will be collective!» Deputy Speaker said.

Olena Kondratiuk noted that according to the message of the EU Council, the general rules of the visa code will apply to citizens of Russia from now on. This will lead to:

- Increasing the cost of issuing a visa from EUR 35 to EUR 80;
- The need to provide additional documentary evidence;
- Extension of terms for issuing visas;
- Application of greater restrictions on issuing multiple-entry visas.

«At the same time, Ukraine, together with Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia, will continue to insist on a complete ban on Russian tourism in the EU.» The Deputy Speaker emphasized.
