Volodymyr Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Friday, in the Framework of the Working Visit to Saky Town would visit Specialized Spinal Sanatorium named after Academician M. N. Burdenko.
During the meeting with the chairmen of the sanatorium and people undergoing a course of medical treatment a number of issues concerning the functioning of medical estate were discussed.
Chief physician of the sanatorium, Petro Nagornyi expressed thankfulness to the Chairman for the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for the attention paid to the sanatorium after last year visits. According to P. Nagornyi, thankfulness concerns legislative acts and decision adoption under the support of V. Lytvyn. Still, re regretted that these documents are not implemented in the full scope.
Among urgent problems the chief physician named the decrease in the quantity of sanatorium vouchers that are paid by the Ministry on Labour and Social Policy. Moreover, according to P. Nagornyi the sanatorium still has not received extra funds presupposed by the budget for the financing of sanatorium recreation health improvement of disabled and spinal rehabilitation.
V. Lytvyn has pointed out the attention on the uniqueness of sanatorium and stressed the importance of preserving the personnel with great quantity of specialists with great experience. He supported the proposition of the Chairman of the Association of Spinal-Disabled People, Ivan Marysevuch who was present on the meeting concerning the allotment to the sanatorium the status of national. According to V. Lytvyn it would solve a lot of problems.
"I am deeply convinced that Saky town should be transformed into the center of rehabilitation and medical treatment of the disabled people with spinal problems", - the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declared.
Extra Information: Saky Specialized Spinal Sanatorium named after Academician M. N. Burdenko is able to accept up to 3 thousand of disabled during the year under the condition of the sufficient financing of the sanatorium.
For today there are approximately 2,6 mln. disabled in Ukraine and among them 10 thousand are not able to be transported without the invalid chair. (The figure is constantly increasing each year)
