Ruslan Stefanchuk: The Parliament is involved in the implementation of six of the seven requirements for applying for EU membership

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, said in a comment to the Interfax-Ukraine agency that by mid-autumn, the Parliament can adopt the necessary draft laws regarding the seven requirements of the European Commission and the European Council regarding Ukraine's application to become a member of the European Union.

"I don't want to "spoiler", but I think that in the nearest future the Parliament will demonstrate that it performs the assigned tasks quickly and efficiently. We have a plan for each of these draft laws," noted Ruslan Stefanchuk.

He noted: "At least by the beginning or mid-autumn, or maybe even earlier, everything related to the Parliament will be completed.»

At the same time, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine reminded us that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is involved in the implementation of six of the seven requirements for applying for EU membership.

"This applies to all legislative initiatives that will be: and on the competitive selection of judges of the Constitutional Court, and on the appointment of members of the High Council of Justice from the Parliament, and the media, and on national minorities, and increasing the requirements, following the FATF, and in case of receiving conclusions from the Venice Commission of their implementation to the law on deoligarchization, these are precisely the tasks assigned to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine," Ruslan Stefanchuk clarified at the end.
