The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is working on a draft law on reforming the Constitutional Court of Ukraine in terms of the selection of judges on a competitive basis, said Ruslan Stefanchuk in a comment to the Interfax-Ukraine agency.

According to him, this is the part of fulfillment of the seven requirements of the European Commission for the acquisition of Ukraine's membership in the EU.

"It is absolutely logical that the first task set before Ukraine is the question of reforming the Constitutional Court in terms of the selection of judges on a competitive basis. A separate draft law is being developed. As far as I know, it should be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada in the coming days, it will be registered, and I hope that at one of the nearest meetings we will be able to vote on it in the first reading," noted the Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament.
