It is the realization that we have our own one and a half thousand years of history and our own independent future!
Statehood is when a soldier in a trench defends his country... When a doctor saves the wounded... When a teacher mentions the first memory in 838 of the existence of highly developed early Ukrainian state of Rus.
Today is the first time we commemorate this day at the state level, but this holiday is much more than laws.
This holiday is about us. United, courageous and determined!
