Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, has finally resolved to run for Presidency
Addressing the Ukrainian society, V. Lytvyn declared that "the situation in Ukraine is aggravating and in September the climax of the political struggle, oligarch wars and fighting under the slogans of the well-being of the Ukrainian people may be expected. Economic and social situation in the country will further aggravate".
The leader of the parliament stated: "Having become the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in December 2008, I have exerted every effort to prevent the country from decay, to secure its stable economic and political development".
V. Lytvyn stated that at present the political paralysis of the Verkhovna Rada was increasing. The Chairman reminded of the fact that his attempts "to unite all the Ukrainian leaders, determine the tasks in mutual understanding in order to demonstrate that the authorities are responsible for everything that happens in the country" have failed. "All these appeals were broken by the wall of non-understanding, jealousness and political confrontation. The lack of response on the part of the politicians demonstrated that the state of the affairs satisfied them", - stated the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
"Therefore, I have finally resolved to run for presidency to gain a victory!", - he declared and added: "I do clearly understand that the country is in need of a new understandable and adequate course, decisive order, responsible authorities and a possibility for every individual to feel oneself a person".
"We must unite our power to obtain the results that our people and our country deserve!", - stressed the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
