«Our task is to adopt the EU legal system, that is, to bring the national legislation in line with the acquis communautaire.» the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasized during the online meeting of the Scientific Advisory Council.

The Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine singled out three important issues that must be resolved in order to achieve the in order to achieve the mentioned above goal.

- Verify all legislative initiatives with the European Council and the European Commission.

 - To separate which EU directives we can implement through legislative acts and which – through regulations or technical norms. To distinguish between the responsibilities of the Parliament and the Cabinet – each must be effective in its place.

-  Develop a unified approach to the implementation of directives: simply calling the law integrative and passing it is not enough.
