The Committee on Justice recommends that the Parliament ratifies the Recommendations of the Parliamentary Hearings on the Topic "On the State of Justice on Ukraine"

Inter alia, the recommendations state: the participants of the parliamentary hearings held on 18 March 2009 believe that under the current complicated political and social-economic conditions in Ukraine, it is necessary to consolidate the efforts of all branches of authority to continue implementation of the judicial reform and provide for efficient justice, citizens´ access to court, human right for a fair court in compliance with Clause 6 of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Liberties.  

 

The participants of the parliamentary hearings believe that the system of specialized courts should include the local, appellate and higher specialized courts. The said composition of the courts of general jurisdiction is necessary and substantiated.

 

The People´s Deputies deem necessary to alter the approaches to the formation and functioning of the bodies authorized to scrutinize the cases on disciplinary responsibility of judges.

 

The Cabinet of Ministers shall draft and bring forward the Bills aimed at the enhancement of judicial system, judicature and the status of judges; take measures to implement the normative-legal acts adopted by the Parliament.
