Council of Interparliamentary Assembly of CIS has adopted the Appeal to the Parliaments of the Governments of the Community of Independent States on the Occasion of the 150th Anniversary from the Day of Death and 200th Anniversary of the T.G. Shevchenko Birth
During the Meeting of the Interparliamentary Council Assembly of CIS that was held in Kyiv, on 13 July 2009 the Appeal to the Parliaments of the Governments of the Community of Independent States on the Occasion of the 150th Anniversary from the Day of Death and 200th Anniversary of the T.G. Shevchenko Birth was adopted.
It was declared that the creative work of T.G. Shevchenko is unique reality according to its talent and popularity as well as according to its place in the literature, art, social life. His creative inheritance is the world cultural treasure that has influenced the education of numerous generations.
On the 10th of March 2011 would be 150 years from the date of death and on the 9th of March 2014 200 years from the date of birth of the prominent artist and poet.
"Taking into the consideration the considerable place and contribution of T. G. Shevchenko into the development of the culture and his deserts concerning the drawing of the cultures of the CIS countries together, Council of IPA appeals to the parliamentarians and the governments of the countries participants CIS in order to held in years 2011-2014 memorial occasions dedicated to the jubilee of the Great Kobzar", the appellation says.
As it was indicated in the document "popularity of the creative inheritance of T.G. Shevchenko adds extra impulse to the process of cultural cooperation of Community, would facilitate the strengthening of the mutual understanding between CIS peoples". These memorable dates are called to become essential cultural and historical dates that would gather the peoples of CIS.
